Thinking about thinking about thinking

Do you ever find yourself thinking about the things you think about? And thinking about some of those things, wondering about the people you’ve come across who don’t seem like they think about those sorts of things? And wondering if either those people actually don’t think about those things, or they think about them but just don’t act like they think about them? I’ve been thinking about that.

And I’ve been thinking about the things that I think about thinking about. Why do I think about the things that I and other people think about? I don’t think I know what I think about that.

It’s easy to get lost in thought. I can remember as a child spending so much time, just, like, in the morning. Sitting on my bed, staring into the space between the front of my head (or, my “face”) and the corner of the room, just. Thinking.

All that time and it never occurred to me that I might end up where I am.

It’s easy to get lost in thought.
